About Namja Town

Located in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City complex, Namja Town is an amusement park created by Namco. It transports visitors to the Showa period (1926-1989) with its retro-style streets and buildings. The park features themed zones such as Ice Cream City and Gyoza Stadium, celebrating Japan’s love for unique flavors and regional delicacies.

Namja Town’s attractions include traditional carnival games, a haunted house, and interactive experiences. Visitors can also enjoy dessert lanes and churro shops. Opened in 1996 on the second floor of Sunshine City, Namja Town has secured its place as a distinctive part of the complex, which also hosts the Sky Circus observatory and Ancient Orient Museum.

The park connects with the modern through character mascots and experiences that reflect contemporary Japanese culture. It’s advisable to arrive hungry to make the most of the diverse gyoza and ice cream offerings.

Ikebukuro, around Namja Town, is a hub of activity with attractions like the Sunshine 60 Observatory and the Sunshine Aquarium. The area is also a center for otaku culture and arts

Namja Town is a slice of Showa nostalgia paired with a celebration of food, making it a unique stop for both entertainment and cuisine enthusiasts.
